Harlem World Palm: Wait, There's More

We are often asked about the name of our company “Harlem World Palm Consulting” and where the name was derived from. I was born in Harlem, which is a large neighborhood in the northern section of the New York City borough of Manhattan. Harlem has gone through great adversity and many challenges since the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920’s, yet the residents remain resilient! Today, the "New" Harlem Renaissance can be characterized mainly by economic growth and development, which some characterized it as “The Gentrification of Harlem.” Over the past several years, real estate prices have been skyrocketing, and new shops are popping up all over Harlem to also include a significant demographic change.

After graduating from the infamous Katharine Gibbs School’s Executive Assistant Training Program, I had the pleasure of working in The Chrysler Building, Waldorf~Astoria and on Wall Street. For many years, I’ve provided Executive Administrative support to senior~level Executives on Wall Street, Midtown Manhattan, and Westchester County.

In 2004, I left New York for the bright sunny skies of Orlando, Florida where I subsequently experienced great adversity and many challenges. Upon my arrival to "The City Beautiful," I accepted an administrative support position for a major communications company and subsequently experienced Hurricane Charlie, which was the first of three hurricanes to come that year.

Four years later in 2008, while employed by a major financial institution, the “Great Recession” hit our country and I was laid off due to a merger and acquisition. Fortunately, I was afforded a great opportunity to provide Executive Administrative support to the President/CEO of a non-profit organization in West Palm Beach, which is one of the three main cities in South Florida. At this time, I decided to return to college and complete my Associate degree in Paralegal Studies.

After the "Great Recession," I also noticed a paradigm shift in the re-structuring of businesses. There was a tremendous increase in start-ups and small business owners struggled to maintain their business while juggling various time-consuming and repetitive administrative tasks. I realized there was a need for Small Business Owners to outsource those assignments in an effort to Reduce Overhead Costs and Increase Efficiency. Consequently, I’ve created great partnerships in the South and Central Florida areas and the Northeast.

In 2014, I returned to Central Florida to further my education earning my Bachelors degree in Organizational Communication & Leadership ‘18. In 2016, after returning home from a leadership women’s conference in Washington D.C., I officially launched Harlem World Palm Consulting, where we “Simplify the Life” of the Small Business Owner, Entrepreneur and Non~Profit Organizations.
